RF Engineer – Austin, TX

Responsibilities

  • The RF Engineer will perform hands on board level RF and Antenna design and characterization.
  • Support field trials of selected technology prototypes to validate system assumptions.
  • Analyze technology and possible system/product requirements in incubation development phase.
  • Make technical recommendations of the viability of solutions and possible alternatives in the form of presentations and short reports.
  • Participate in product definition and detailed product requirements as part of transition to full scale development.
  • Develop test and validation plans in conjunction with our wireless sensor development teams, Operations, QA, and Systems Integration teams.
  • Relocation provided. $95K-$135K

Requirements

  • The RF Engineer will have a BSEE and 3 to 5+ years of Industry work experience in the board level design of unlicensed band access point and subscriber products operating at 868 MHz, 915 MHz, 2.4 GHz, and 5.x GHz.
  • Experience designing satellite communications equipment in the L and Ka bands.
  • Experience with LoRa networks would be deemed as a plus, coupled with verifiable RF new product design/development experience for high volume wireless, consumer, automotive, medical products.
  • RF circuit and Antenna design simulation using NI AWR Microwave Office or equivalent.
  • Recent experience in new product development to full scale production.
  • Experience working within a Phase Gated New Product Development Process.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and have a stable work history.
