Responsibilities
- The Mechanical Design Engineer will develop the design schedule and budget based on design deliverables.
- Travel occasionally to engineering contractor offices and visit plant sites and suppliers as needed. Coordinate the activities of others (civil, electrical, and instrumentation) and of engineering contractors.
- Manage multiple activities with varied scope, schedule, priorities, and locations.
- Provide inspection of construction, during various phases, to ensure compliance with design and codes.
Requirements
- The Mechanical Design Engineer will have a BS Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of experience with the design of equipment such as pumps, pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, mixers and dryers.
- Experience working in a chemical manufacturing plant mandatory. Experience with P&ID development, equipment specifications and design, plant layout, piping design, valve selection, and RFQ packages.
- Experience scope development, detailed design, construction, and commissioning. Experience and knowledge with applicable codes (ASME, API), standards, and best practices for process plant design.
- Experience with software tools such as Autodesk, AutoCAD, Staad, Caesar, and Compress.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and have a stable work history. Sponsorship is not available.
