Materials Engineer – Baton Rouge, LA

Responsibilities

  • The Materials Engineer will provide the manufacturing facility with technical expertise related to materials selection, identifying potential degradation modes and estimating the likelihood of failure, and developing inspection or monitoring plans for fixed equipment (i.e. tanks, piping, vessels).
  • Responsible for identifying long-term improvement opportunities, implementing technologies to improve plant profitability, and monitoring the plant for changing conditions which may impact inspection plans or the rate at which equipment needs to be replaced.
  • Relocation provided. $100K-$150K.

Requirements

  • The Materials Engineer will have a BSME or BS Materials Engineering and 2+ years work experience associated with materials and inspection in the petrochemical industry.
  • Familiarity with API inspection codes (e.g. API 510, 570, 580 & 653), typical equipment degradation modes (e.g. API 571), typical plant equipment functionality or design (e.g. heat exchangers, reactors, furnaces, etc.), welding (e.g. API 582) and fabrication, and material properties and limitations.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. and has a stable work history. Sponsorship is not available.
