Responsibilities
- The EHS Manager is part of the site leadership team and is responsible for insuring that the facility is provided with competent environmental, health, safety, security and quality control expertise in a timely, cost effective manner to maintain compliance with local, state and federal agencies to insure continued operation.
- Responsible for timely follow-up of corrective actions identified through internal and external audits, incident investigations, and industry best practice initiatives as well as assisting with safety, security, and laboratory duties, as needed
- The EHS Manager Develops and maintains audits and recordkeeping systems to demonstrate compliance with all state and federal requirements
- Provides leadership to site EHS Committee. Monitors all safety and security of facility and works to ensure facility remains in compliance with federal and state regulations. Identifies best practices and leads continuous initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
- Provide oversight of incident investigations to determine causes, install preventative measures. Provides technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to employees on safety, security, and environmental initiatives and necessary changes.
- Directly manages safety personnel at the site and provides oversight for all aspects of environmental and quality control processes.
- Provides oversight of the plant quality control lab

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Safety, Health and Environmental, or related degree with experience in EHS in related industry.
- 10+ years EHS experience, preferably in a chemical plant or refinery, 5 years as an EHS Manager.
- Knowledge of state, local and US Government regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, etc.)
- Experience with safety, process safety and security regulations.
- Compliance auditing experience.
- Working knowledge of air emissions and permitting, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, wastewater, and environmental reporting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and have a stable work history. Sponsorship is not available.
